Paul continues his breakdown of the armor of a follower of Jesus Christ with the shield of faith and the helmet of salvation. These pieces of armor are critical for withstanding the onslaught of subtle lies and deception that the enemy throws at the believer.
As we wait for the 2nd advent of Christ God makes the most of our waiting. He desires that our love for Jesus would grow deeper and stronger as we wait on His return. The Psalmist offers a clinic of hopeful waiting that deepens our yearning for the presence of Christ in Psalm 27.
The book of Ruth is the next chapter in the chronological journey through Scripture. In the book of Ruth we find a foreign woman exercising great faith in the God of Israel and reaping the blessings of that faith. Those blessings continue to be poured into the lives of every person who places faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Ruth’s story serves as a reminder that even when life looks fuzzy the fingerprints of God are still evident and the best course of action we can take is to exercise risky and biblical faith in Him.
